Ah, that is a very good question, Grasshopper. One that sounds like the answer could be confusion, but really isn’t.

At NTK, we run our track on a volunteer work force. Everyone at the track is a volunteer – there are no paid workers. All of our Board Members/Race Directors (even the Prez and VP) are volunteers. Which means, anyone can do it!

So, when the call for workers goes out before each race event, everyone needs to be willing to step up and help out. And you do get “paid” in a way.

First, you receive Race Credit: For every 2 NTK Club race event positions worked, that member family will receive one (1) free race entry (that’s worth $25!)

Secondly, you can assign Work Points: Anyone (club member, friend, family, next door neighbor, etc) that works a NTK Club race event can assign “work points” to any NTK Club Member racer. Work Points are worth 210 points in a race series (only one per series allowed). And unless a class is running with over 10 entries in that event, that is more than 1^st place will receive!! So you are working for higher than 1^st place points!

NTK is in need of some driver suits, gloves, and helmets so we can ensure that our guests are well protected during their demo rides. If you have some old, but still in good condition gear, please contact an NTK officer or bring it to the track at the next race.
