Iron Rock Raceway would like to invite all area racers to the 5th Annual Austin Grand Prix August 15, 16 & 17, 2008.
Every year, Iron Rock Raceway hosts their biggest race of the year awarding drivers MEGA CASH! This year, Iron Rock will be awarding $2,500 to podium drivers in ALL TAG classes...that's $10,000! All ages of kart drivers aging from 5 to 65 years are invited to compete.
Drivers can expect the AGP to adhere to the rules and regulations of the Southwest Regional Cup series - except tires - All drivers will be required to run MG Yellows. Saturday and Sunday will be scored as a separate race day starting with a controlled practice, Qualifying, Pre Final and a Main Event. Drivers will be scored based on the finishing positions per day. There must be, at least, 5 drivers per class to receive cash awards. Trophies will be awarded to non-cash classes for both days, but cash awards to TAG drivers will be awarded as a combination of both days.
It's not uncommon to see rigs, RVs, and huge trailers camping all weekend. You never know who you will run into or be a witness to the best action of the year. Admission is free to watch and Pit Passes are also available. Come be an active part of the competition, support your local driver, or just witness some of the best open wheel racing in the country!
