Outlaw races
by Brad Johnson » Sun Nov 30, 2008 10:43 am
I was thinking about coming up for the Outlaw races next year and letting all you NTK guys kick my a.. around your track. I've only had one good race day there after I don't know how many visits. Anyway, I see the NTK rules show the 2004 SKUSA rules for Stock Honda. Since I don't have the 04 rulebook anymore, mine is legal to the 06-07 book, is it still legal to the 04 set? I don't remember any changes but I could be wrong. Thanks for any help, also any gearing ideas would really help. I'm technically an S4, around 420 on the scales. Thanks again.

Brad, glad to have you! 16x26 is the standard shifter gear when running NTK forward. Having a little more weight you might think about running a 14x23. As far as the rules go we follow the most current SKUSA rules. As long as you are running a stock moto you should be fine. I will tell you the R4 pipe and a M4 silencer works very well at our track. Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions.
Look forward to seeing you there!
Thanks,
Mark

Mark,
Thanks for the info. If I can get all the travel and things arranged and the stars line up right maybe I can make one of the races.
Brad
PS - Good show at the SNats, I was following along on ekarting and wishing I would have gone this year.

Sounds like the gauntlet has been thrown.
I have some work to do but maybe I can get it done and make a showing. I'm sure my wife is ready for a visit to her best friend in Dallas.

I think I will make it up there for the race this weekend. I know there are to many variables to give a specific answer but about how long is the schedule for the day. Just wondering if making the drive home is an option Saturday night or if I should plan on staying.

Brad, doesn't look like we are racing. I have also talked to a few of the other regulars and they don't plan to make it either. Don't want to discourage you from coming but you maybe running on your own.
I think everyone is working on getting a big group together for the 3rd or the 4th race.
Thanks,
Mark

Guess that would save the embarassment of getting kicked around by the locals to bad!! By the time the next race comes our series here will have started so I won't need to travel. It's was just going to be some shakedown fun anyway so I might still be there.

Thanks to NTK for a fun day. Race results were about what I expected but it was still fun. Thanks to Mike, Mark, and Dick for introducing yourselves and offering any help. Sorry Mike that I didn't recognize you from the TKC days, I probably wouldn't recognize Jeff either it's been a long time since those days. Thanks Clint for only lapping me once, hopefully next time at least you won't be able to catch me.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Hey Brad, we're halfway considering starting an S4 class, they will still be ran with all the other shifters, but scored separately. This way maybe it's so intimidating to race against those young whipper snappers. Glad to see you. Hope to see you more at the rest of the races. I will have my hooptie finished by the next race, should be at least 10-12 by then.

Hello Brad:
It was nice meeting you and thanks for making the trip to race in Winter 2. Sounds like we will have a larger shifter group at Winter 3 and 4. Hope you can make it back for more races!
