R-MAX CHALLENGE

Postby Greg Bargas » Sat Jan 24, 2009 9:12 am

I see that the sch. for the r-max challenge is set for the club . So who and how is the series going to be run ? Specifically the tire rule. 1 set of mojo's per race date or as many tires as needed for the entire series.

Prior to the rules meeting it was decided that the club and RMax races will be run together, scorred seperately.

It was decided at the rules meeting that you MUST run MGs to get points. There was no hard push at the rules meeting to allow Mojos on RMax nights (as we did before). It was suggested at the meeting that if you want to run for club points, you can always run RMax @ SWRC.

So, unless RMax is going to allow you to run MGs, you will not be able to make a run for the club championship if you are running RMax Challenge @ NTK.

But, don't take my word for all this. Suggest you verify the situation with Mike.

I expect this will lower Rotax kart count on non-RMax nights...

To All,
Per the agreement at the rules meeting:
All R-max challenge races will run under the r-max challenge rules.
Tries, tape on radiator, passport, seals ect.
The races will be combined with club races.
Club racers will be under club rules.

George,
You just won't get off of the tape on radiator thing will you. Being an air-cooled Yamaha guy, I realize your lack of appreciation for water-cooled engines. In the future, just leave it as we will run per the RMax rules.

Jeff,
A DQ for tape is still a DQ, and in appreciation of the non air cooled groups I'm glad to hear that you all are going to come out an work on the track this year. Thanks for the help as we do have some major projects to get done. Finishing the gate, fixing the drag strip barrier. And so on. The small block Chevy is my choice of water cooled motors. :D I also feel that the challange races should be split from the club races. However there was no push to change this at the rules meeting. They would run at the end of the club races to get the Karts changed to R-max rule from club rules.

Is the series information poseted anywhere. Will it be a points system or a number of punches? And I assume from what George said and the rules meeting that the Rotax series racers will be on Mojo's?

Thanks,
Mark

Sorry...posted a little quick! I found this on the Rotax site.

2009 USRKC Grand National
To qualify for the 2009 USRKC Grand National members must compete in 4 official USRKC races. A minimum of 3 of these races must be in the members declared home series. The additional race may be in any other official USRMC RMax Challenge series or event. Cutoff for 2009 Grand National qualification will be August 9, 2009. Registration procedures for the 2009 GN will be announced once details are finalized. Registration will remain open until the class cap is reached or the cutoff date occurs.

Mike or Bob,
Will the above be the same for the SWRC/Rmax combined race? Except the entry fee?
Regards,
BP

Robert,

SWRC race will be run under SWRC rules & entry fees. NTK/KAM Karting Challenge racers that enter will get a 10 point bonus towards their Rotax national points standings and the races will count towards their Home series.

Quote from www.rmaxchallenge.com 2009 Rules Primer

"GN Qualification
Minimum of 4 races with a minimum of 3 races from the home series. The fourth qualifying race can be from any official US Rotax Max Challenge Series.
National Points
Best 6 races in home series."

2009 SWRC Rules are not posted yet, they are being finalized and will be posted on the SWRC website soon.

I checked with Marshall Martin as I wasn't clear on how the combined series races (SWRC) counted in your Home (NTK) series.

Marshall says the combined series races are considered a Home series race in both series and count for points and punches.

Just to clarify, even if we're running the NTK KAM Challenge, the SWRC event at NTK will count for two home series punches, assuming we run both the Satruday and Sunday event?

Is this correct Yaani-Mai?

Dirk,

Yes, I checked with Marshall as I wasn't sure how the combined series races counted and his reply was "As a joint race it is considered a home series race for both the NTK and SWRC series members."

I will send him a link to this thread just for verification.
