Spring 5 rain out?
by Michael Johnson » Mon May 11, 2009 2:49 pm
Hi,
Could someone please explain what the story is regarding race results for Spring 5?
My class did not start a race. However in the results it appears this race was considered a complete event.
Thanks
Michael

Hi Michael,
All classes completed quailifying, those times determined the results. You might check with Jeff Cloud if you need more info on points.

What are points?
I'm talking about the $60 entry fee I paid for a five minute practice session. I would simply like my entry fee waived the next time I go to race.
Thank you

Michael,
I understand your frustration as I have had three karts entered in both rain-outs.
Our rules clearly state that the club does not race in the rain and also that if you qualify then you will be scored. So by the time we get through qualifying then the club has had essentially the same expenses as a regular race. Remember, last race was called before the qualifying so the scenario was just opposite.
I guess what I am saying here is that the line has to be placed somewhere when dealing with rainouts and this seems to be OK for me. If the club members want a different policy then we can entertain it at any club meeting and then either vote on it in that meeting or the next rules meeting if it is a competition rule change.
Regards,
Bob Preston

Hi Bob,
Thank you for the clarification. Who would have expected all of this rain?!

Yes, I would like to propose we add two extra days on to this weekend so that we can get out of sync with the weather cancelling our weekend fun!
Also, I hope you guys can pull together five entries for the next race, I was so looking forward to the shifter final....

stock moto racers

hahaha a great plan. I am sure the board can vote on the +2 days on weekend to get out of sync with weather.
I am also looking forward to the continued growth of the stock moto category. With the incredible performance and very low cost its a no-brainer. We did some quick math and there are 9 of these karts in the metroplex that can make to the track on any given Saturday night. A couple more added to the fray and that would be darn good show.
Lucky for me I will have one of the best seats in the house!!!
