I was very sad to hear of Jeff Oakes passing. I know everyone at NTK will miss seeing him at the track. It seems he was always there for as long as I have been a member. NTK won't be the same without him.

I am deeply saddened by this news. I've known Jeff since I first came to race at NTK, originally a competitor in the brackets classes ten years ago.
Having taken a break from nearly karting since 2005, I visited the IKG RRGN, and spent about half an hour just kicking around with Jeff. Mostly Yamatalk and his view of the race he just finished.
A few weeks ago I dropped out to NTK, first time in 4 years. Hung out with Jeff a bit cheered him on when he was racing.
Very sad indeed. Godspeed Jeff, you'll be missed by many.

This is terrible
Jeff was(is..) such a great guy. Just really loved the sport and all the people in it- even those he didn't always see eye to eye with.

Here are links to two write ups about Jeff.
The second one is from the Denton Chronicle and you have to scroll down to find Jeff's information.
