This may have been posted already but, what rules is the club using? Questions after market air filter,any exhaust, any or what clutch, fuel pump mandatory or can you use gravity feed from tank on engine. Just keep in mind there is a TON of cheater parts for these engines, so the club needs to think about buying tech tools.

We haven't decided on the rules yet. We are just trying to get the class started & get some 4-cycles out to the track & have some fun. I think we are going to go with the SWRC rules, let me verify with John Ray.

I have read about all the cheater parts on the internet. It's a shame they are out there but we like the idea of the claimer rule & that is in the SWRC rules also.

Guys their not cheater parts. They are made for the other 2 classes, where they are perfectly legal, they just happen to end up in box stock classes by accident.

Hopefully we will see if there are track specific rule changes soon. I know some people did not like some of the parts in the ARC kit. Especially the exhaust muffler.

Gene has made modifications to the exhaust (heated it & bent it downwards away from driver). I took photos this afternoon & will post them with instructions on how to modify & build a brace to support the muffler. I just got home from the club mtg that we had tonight but will post the photos & instructions tomorrow.

We could put all our motors in a pile & draw for them, so it won't do anyone any good for their engines to accidentally end up with cheater parts on them.

Exactly. I have no problem putting them in a pool and drawing motors. No add on parts in my motors.

The only thing that really seems to be an issue with the wiener pipe is the muffler. They tend to go to pieces quickly. Now you can buy them for next to nothing at TSC. But one pipe for $40 and don't run it too lean and you are set for good. My motor sits further back and burning me is really not a problem, just looks. Kids kart it is really way back.

I would like to see how it turned out. Always like seeing what other people are doing.

We had a SWRC mtg tonight. They said no modifications of the exhaust pipe or any parts except those specified in the rules.

So if NTK is going with the SWRC rules you had better not modify or bend your exhaust pipe. I will post a pic of how we wrapped it. Ours is already bent down & away from the driver but we will have to replace it now according to the SWRC rules.

Here are a couple of photos, one of them shows the pipe with insulated thermal wrapping and that will be allowed in the SWRC rules.

The supports we made support the exhaust & muffler to prevent vibration but now the pipes are not allowed to be bent I guess we will need to remake some supports for unmodified pipes.

Bill Choice from Katy is supposed tot be sending me photos of a support he made & I will post them here when he does.

Just to let anyone know that is buying an engine this weekend, you can use the 20% off coupon. That made my total $77.93 per engine with tax. Most car magazines have the coupon, I know for a fact the current issue of Family Handyman has it in there. Magazine with tax is $3.89, not bad to save $18.00 on motor.

Don't worry. I really appreciate your offer. Just imagine how new I am to karting that this week I'll get the chassis, I just got the engine last weekend, so believe me that maybe even with the most basic stuff I'll need some guidance...

Hey Carlos

I am still very new to this myself. I don't know if I will be out this week either. Hopefully I will be racing at Spring 3. That is if I get enough practice between now and then.

It can be a little over whelming if you try to do everything yourself. I personally like to do all the work I can on my karts. That way if something goes wrong I know how to fix it. Just ask lots of questions.
The Gaddy's are great people and have been very helpful to us.
