Who is entering the Chonda class this coming Saturday?
Gene & I will be there & maybe Austin too.
I put a restrictor on my kart last Sunday, it slowed it down by a couple of seconds. I'm going to try to beat Gene's track record.

Hi Yanni, We are working hard trying to get Joe,s Arrow finished. I should be there with my Emmick, and am really looking forward to it. I went up there today, and ran about twenty laps, and boy did I get an education on how hard these things really are to drive! Very easy to overdrive. Just out of curiosity, what lap times were you turning Sunday? My best laps were in the mid 54's, and I know Both kart and driver need work!

Joe,
That's OK everyone spells my name differently. There are hundreds of variations on the spelling.
The kid karts make driving out there look easy, it's not as quite as easy as those little tykes make it look.
After I put a restrictor on it I was going 49, 50 seconds laps & I still have more weight to add that I hope to have on it by Saturday. So maybe I will be around 50 or 51 second laps.
I also have a tendency to overdrive, oversteer & end up having to counter steer & recover out of the turns. Kind of like "The faster I go, the slower I get!" I think I started getting better at it last Sunday though. It seemed like something clicked last Sunday & I wasn't fighting with my kart so much & over steering, it was a lot smoother & I went faster. It just takes a lot of practice & I am kind of a slow learner when it comes to driving. I didn't learn to drive a car till I was in my twenties (didn't need one in England) so maybe that has something to do with it.

Joe,
Go to http://www.racelaps.com & create a free account & you can see our lap times from Spring 3.
Austin & I had no restrictors so we will be slower than that when we have a restrictor.
Both Gene & I had trouble getting our tyres warmed up, it was kind of cool & we were sliding around a lot. Austin is a lot better driver & could get his tyres warmed up.
Gene had 56, 57 second laps, I had some 54, 55 second laps. The 60+ second laps were the laps we were spinning out.
Last Sunday when we practiced it was a lot warmer & we had plenty of grip & got a lot better times. I just hope it is warm again this Saturday night.
