Tag cadet points

What tag cadet engines are being allowed to run for class points? I was told only gazelle engines would be allowed to run for year end awards. Just trying to find out if this is correct. Thanks

2.1.14.1 TAG Cadet I: Ages 8-12. Weight 230 lbs. Gazelle engines. 2.1.14.1.1

TAG Cadet 2: Ages 8-12. Weight 240 lbs. Gazelle, Parilla Mini Swift, and Vortex Mini Rok engines.

You can use engines other than Gazelle but you will be in Tag Cadet 2 instead of Tag Cadet 1. You will still earn points in the Tag Cadet 2 class not the Tag Cadet 1 class. See rules for YE awards requirements.

Understood but why have two cadet classes when all engines can run cadet ll with the same weight. Makes no sense

I have no idea, I didn't notice that the Gazelle engine was included in the TAG Cadet 2 class. Do you think that is a typo?
