New to karting
by paul martin » Sun May 20, 2012 9:37 am
My sons and are about to start kart racing finally. My oldest is 13 and doesn't have a kart. My youngest is 7 and has a Birel that we purchased last fall. Just wondering if anyone can steer us towards a place to purchase parts, clothing,
etc...also are there any coaches or mentors that can help get us rolling?
Thanks! - Paul Martin (940) 206-7457

I would start with 3G karting, our local Briel kart shop. Their number is: 281-599-0851. bob

Paul,
Please come to the track and see what classes are run & talk to racers in the different classes to see which class you might be interested in.
Yamaha & Chonda are great classes to start out in. Both have large fields with plenty of other racers to race with. Which one depends on your budget & how much time and money you want to spend on engine & clutch maintenance.
If you have questions about the Chonda (4-cycle Honda clone) class feel free to call me. 972-462-8393
If you have questions about the Yamaha class be sure to call John Ray at 214-357-0545.
