References to Weights

Postby Tony Hager » Mon Jun 11, 2012 2:02 pm

I'm a newbie so I am trying to figure out all the lingo that is being used here on the forums. When looking at the different Kart Classes, I see a reference to total weights but have no idea how much a typical Kart would weigh.

With a Sr chassis and a Yamaha 100 what would be a typical weight for this setup?

Thanks,
Tony

The SUPER SPORTSMAN weight with you and the kart is 340 lbs. minimum.

Yamaha Masters is with can at 340 lbs / 360 lbs if using a pipe.

Just to add on to what Bob said, the average weight for the chassis with engine is around 150 lbs. So you can use that as a guide for how much lead weight you'll need to add to your kart for the given class.

We'll have open practice this Friday night for Saturdays race, so bring your kart out and get it weighed!

If you have any other questions or need any help, don't hesitate to call!
