Re: Briggs Motors in Kid Kart

The Briggs are actually a little too big and heavy for a kid kart chassis. Nobody runs them here and they didn't have a class at kid kart nationals this year either. You have to cut out the side pod and and also have a certain motor mount. Maybe somebody will propose a modified or limited modified C...

Re: wheels

If they are on the kid kart, they are the right wheels to learn. When she gets the hang of it, narrow up the rear wheels (up to 3.25") to get more roll out and top speed. If you go with the skinny ones right off the bat and she can't handle the kart because it is too loose, you may be taking a ...

Re: tires

I don't think they changed the rules, but the tires have always been open compound for the Kid Karts as long as they were MG's. I know there is a split between greens and yellows in the field. We even have reds mounted as well. Cold weather, use greens. They will work in the summer too unless it get...

Re: Tech tip

And you can drive for hours to find one of these stations when you are out of state huh Jeff? What we do for these kids. Also a new set of tires work really well after they have figured out the most basic of driving skills. It's hard to put a time stamp on old tires, but you can run one set of new t...

Re: Briggs Motors in Kid Kart

We have the briggs engine in the rules already as an option. I wouldn't mind seeing how they do even mixed in with the comers. There really weren't that many Briggs at the kid kart nationals, less than 10. The thing is that everyone says the Briggs motor is too big for a kid kart chassis. Maybe it c...

Local Axle Straightener?

Low and behold I have a bent 25mm PKT kid kart axle. Don't really know how it happened, but it did. Who would you guys suggest? With it being small, thin and light weight I can't have anyone practicing. Just spent over $100 on this one a few races ago. Thanks in advanced -- Robbie

Thanks Mike for the 411. Do the Kneuter valves come in a six pack? I feel like I may need a few spares. --- Robbie

Kid Kart jetting suggestions

Took my son to the track this week and it didn't go so well. The kart had sat for a few months but when I warmed it up everything seemed fine, revving out fine until I killed it. When I started it back up I could not get it to clean out. I had to take it off of full choke to keep it running, but sti...
