We run our Sportsman engines to 14 - 14.5k. Our pistons go 10 hrs(plus or minus a little. We do the bottom ends every 30 - 40 hrs. Top ends cost between $200 and 250, and complete rebuilds are around $450 - 600.

Bob is correct. We had ceramics provided to us in junior 1, and they were great, on the stand nothing was better, but on the track there was no difference. The benefit was life as the ceramics lived about 3 times longer. I cannot afford them, so we no longer use them, and I dont think we are down on...
