Re: New guy.... old karter..........

Here is the answer you are looking for. Last year we set aside a weekend for people with vintage equipment to come out and have some fun running their karts, our turn out was poor at best. I am looking at the calendar to see if there is a Saturday when we can have another try at it. You can email Mi...

Re: Clone Exhaust AKRA Compliance Question

Olu, you have to have an average of three persons in your bracket to make it a class, however I'm not sure if they all have to be in the same bracket, because there is only one jacket given out for brackets. Push for some others to go for it. I will read the rules and relate back to you on it.

Re: Clone Exhaust AKRA Compliance Question

To answer your question, the NTK rules call for the weenie pipe, now you might have seen some of the pro-clone pipes at some of the winter series races, remember the winter series races are bracket races and the rules are run what you brung, meaning they can use those pipes. During the points season...

was anyone paying any attention to Thursday night, the first Thursday of the month?? oh yeah we had a general club meeting and we were supposed to nominate new officers for next year. For those of you who didn't show up, you missed voting your preference on whether or not you cared if we raised the ...

Re: Interest in "Pea Pick" v. Qualifying

pea pick racing is a form of draw we used to do before we got the AMB timing system where all racers qualify time wise for position in the pre final race. when you do pea pick the computer does a random draw of drivers in the chosen class and sets the starting grid for the first of three heat races,...

Re: Bedding in new brake pads?

this is the first time I have heard this question asked, and my response would be I have never done anything other than put them right to use. I am not to sure of the friction coefficient of blue pads, I usually use black pads on either a steel rotor or even a cast iron rotor. be sure and report on ...

Re: Several more Chonda questions

the main jet needs to be drilled out to .038 dia. I can do it for you. not to sure about the rear gearing, but you will definitely need a sprocket with more teeth on it, maybe 15/62 or 63 it depends on the rpm at the end of the front straightaway twisting maybe around 6,000 rpm. the absorbent pad ca...

Re: 80 CC Shifter Setup

Daniel, we spoke in the parking lot when you picked up your kart and had it in the back of your truck. Your problem is that you have a shift lever that pushes the housing rather than pull the cable. The ball fitting on the end of the housing has to seat in the socket in the shift lever, you do this ...

Re: 16 Year Old interested in Karting...

to further expound on what kevin has told you, your son sounds as if at his size shifter karts would be the direction he should go. his knowledge of handling the clutch/throttle will be an advantage for him, also at his height and current weight it would be better to select a shifter. normally we wo...

Re: Engine Diaper Source

as kevin noted, we will allow you to use an rtv or otherwise sealer to assist the gasket in sealing the side cover to the block. some people have had difficulty getting a good seal there and have had leakage. it is a belt and suspender situation and everything we can do is sadly worth it, you may no...

Re: Engine Diaper Source

in response to the diaper question, they can be purchased at any napa parts store. they are nothing more than an oil absorbent towelthat can be placed safely under the motor as was shown at the track on the day of the announcement. yes this is a asphalt track and when an oil down does occur it holds...

Re: Kart number

you can still get assigned a number at the registration for the winter series races, i didnt think you would start your driver in that set of races, reason being, it cost more than regular series races and with his limited racing skill he might not fare well enough for it to payback any rewards othe...

Re: 80cc Shifter Questions

probably 95 to 04 is the 80cc engine preference, anything later is an 85cc and not that we are not allowing it, we would like to keep it to the 80cc motor if at all possible, stock. the weight requirement is 360 lbs, however at the rules meeting in january there needs to be some allowances for heavi...

Re: First kart

Dan, my advice is to start at the bottom and work your way up. Your driver needs to learn how to drive a kart first and then hone his achieved skills until he is not able to go any quicker or faster in the kart he is in and then move to the next step. I only reccomend yamaha because it is cost effec...
