Kid Kart jetting suggestions

Post by Robbie Floyd »

Took my son to the track this week and it didn't go so well. The kart had sat for a few months but when I warmed it up everything seemed fine, revving out fine until I killed it. When I started it back up I could not get it to clean out. I had to take it off of full choke to keep it running, but still had to choke it some to get it to rev at all, but never a full wind out rev. If I took it completely off the choke it would die as well. I am about to take the carb apart and clean clean it in case of a clog, but I also noticed while sitting overnight there was a pool of fuel that came from the filter on the front of the carb. Could the floats be sticking/stuck? What are the general jets used here for the Comer 50? Surely I only have to change the main. Thanks ------ Robbie

Hey Robbie,

We normally ran a 56 jet in that motor. Def, clean the carb. Sounds like the float was sticking.

Robbie,

It's probably the "knueter valve" in the carb. We have replacements valves here at the shop. Come on by and pick up a couple, they retail for $799 but they're on sale this week $500 cash. Heck of a deal!

Thanks Mike for the 411. Do the Kneuter valves come in a six pack? I feel like I may need a few spares. --- Robbie
