80cc Shifter Questions

Post by Matt Wolfe »

I am looking to put a shifter on my Blackstar for next and was curious as to some of the specs to be used such as what year to what year, completely stock or what mods are allowed, gearing, minimum weight and fuel required. Thanks.

probably 95 to 04 is the 80cc engine preference, anything later is an 85cc and not that we are not allowing it, we would like to keep it to the 80cc motor if at all possible, stock. the weight requirement is 360 lbs, however at the rules meeting in january there needs to be some allowances for heavier drivers, so as not to split the class up into light and heavy. nothing determined yet. gearing is around 15/25 for a starter ratio. fuel is not yet set, but everyone is running c-12. good pipe is the rlv tc4. in building this class up again from scratch we are letting you run what you brung unless it gets out of hand and until rules are established for our track. no front brakes.

The engines are bike engine. We remove the kick starter and mechanism. We also tap the jug for a pulse line to run our vacuum fuel pumps, as there is no longer a gravity fed fuel tank. Look at http://www.SharkShifter.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.fastech-racing.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; for mounts.
