My 7yr/old wants to go karting with his Dad

Looking for some advise and guidance on karting for my 7yr old boy and for myself. I come from long history of road racing and drag racing, but haven't a clue on what's the hot set-up in karting. We live in Fort Worth and I see on the calender that the track is open this Saturday. My family and I plan on visiting to see what's its all about and would appreciate some honest advise.

Hey george I will be at the track Saturday tuning come see me and I can get you set up with everything. I will be wearing all black and tuning for the #5 red birel junior kart. I run my own driver development and tuning shop and can tell you everything you need to know about karting.
