Guys, I may realize later some of these are dumb questions, but just to clarify....
What is the diff between the magnesium and alum bearing carriers for my shifter axle? Just weight?
How do I tell the diff between the Douglas mag and mag low volume wheels?
Are these ceramic bearings I am seeing out there really worth it?
How do I know if my rear brake pins are too loose?
THX guys. Just making sure of a few things. see you at the track!

I'll answer one of the questions: are ceramic bearings worth it. Answer: I have asked this question myself and the answer is only on the lower horsepower karts, like in the Jrs classes, where it helps. The adult karts have enough horsepower that the fractional difference in friction would not be a benefit.

Bob is correct. We had ceramics provided to us in junior 1, and they were great, on the stand nothing was better, but on the track there was no difference. The benefit was life as the ceramics lived about 3 times longer.
I cannot afford them, so we no longer use them, and I dont think we are down on speed to anyone in Yamaha.
Tracktime and tires works for us.
