As I sit and think about what words of wisdom I can pass on to you as members, I recall the passage in The Outlaw Josey Wales when the old indian chief said the government told them to "endeavor to persevere," which is what we will do after cancelling the IKF Grand Nationals.
It was not an easy choice to make and we have taken quite a bit of heat over it, some from notable sources and some from locals. Again it was not an easy decision. The entry count was not even enough to make a good weekend event for a club race.
There are just too many options for racers to take and that race was apparently low on the list for many. We all set our agenda at the first of the season for the races we intend on going to and money dictates that for many.
As a club we will move on and face whatever comes next with the spirit of true racers and a desire to persevere. Here's hoping all have a wonderful summer and remember to stay hydrated.
